The annual Feast of Medhanealem will be held on Saturday, 4 April 2026, with the attendance of Abba Dimetrios—the Archbishop of the Eastern Canada Diocese of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church—as well as other leaders and parishioners from Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo churches in eastern Canada. 

Palm Sunday, also called Hosanna in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church on Sunday 5 April 2026, marks Jesus Christ's entry into Jerusalem. It signals the end of Lent and the start of Holy Week (Himamat). Chief Administrator of the Church urges all parishioners to attend this important spiritual day.

This day is a deeply sacred day in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church as Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. There will be an all day Church Services from early morning 7 am to 6 pm. 

Easter is the most significant day for Orthodox Christians. It marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death. It is also the end of the Great Lent. The celebration begins with Church services that start Saturday evening and runs until the early hours of Sunday.
